Hardware and network
In short
A KVM VPS is a virtual server with dedicated resources and full root access, isolated from other customers through hardware virtualisation. At LowPings it starts at €4.99 per month for 2 vCPU, 4 GB RAM, 50 GB NVMe SSD, a dedicated IPv4 and a 1 Gbps network with unmetered traffic. You install the operating system yourself from Virtualizor.
Configurations
All of them include root access, a dedicated IPv4, DDoS protection, the Virtualizor panel and automatic operating system installation.

Need Windows? There is also a Windows VPS with Administrator access. Need guaranteed resources and unlimited IOPS? See the semi-dedicated servers.
Comparison
Network, root access and DDoS protection are identical on all of them. The processor, memory and disk differ.

What control means
The difference between a real VPS and a hosting plan under another name shows exactly in the moments when something stops working.
Install what you want, run what you want. We do not ask your permission and we do not log in to your server unless you ask us to.
Operating system installed automatically from Virtualizor. Broke something at 3 a.m.? Reinstall at 3 a.m., no ticket needed.
KVM means your own kernel and resources allocated to you. With OpenVZ, memory is often overcommitted and your neighbours eat into your performance.
From order to first SSH login takes minutes. It does not wait for anyone's approval.
About the network, plainly
Other providers write 10. We would rather lose a row in a comparison table than win an order with an inflated number.
1 Gbps means roughly 125 MB/s. For a WordPress site, a business website or a mid-sized shop, the bottleneck is not the network port but the processor, the database and I/O — and what your visitor in Romania actually feels is the response time, which we publish: < 50 ms.
If you genuinely push more than a sustained gigabit, we will tell you plainly: look elsewhere. We would rather you find that out now, not after you have moved your infrastructure.
Frequently asked questions

KVM, full virtualisation. That means your own kernel, resources allocated to your account and the freedom to run whatever you want — including kernel modules, Docker or a different operating system. With OpenVZ, memory is often overcommitted and your neighbours can affect your performance; with KVM, the 4 GB of RAM in the Start plan are yours.
Because 1 Gbps is what we have, and we would rather lose a row in a comparison table than win an order with an inflated number. 1 Gbps means roughly 125 MB/s. For a WordPress site, a business website or a mid-sized shop, the bottleneck is not the network port but the CPU, the database and I/O. If you genuinely need sustained transit above a gigabit, we are not the right provider, and we tell you that now, not after you have paid.
Yes, full root, with no restrictions on our side. You install whichever operating system you want from the Virtualizor panel, with automatic installation, and run whatever software you need. We do not ask your permission for anything and we do not log in to your server unless you ask us to.
The account is active as soon as payment is confirmed. From Virtualizor you start the operating system installation, which runs automatically. From order to first SSH login takes minutes, not days, and it does not wait for anyone's approval.
You reinstall it yourself from Virtualizor, at any time, without opening a ticket. You also have a VNC console, so you can get into the server even if the networking inside it is misconfigured — exactly the situation where SSH no longer helps.
On a VPS the administration is yours, backups included: you have root, so you choose the solution and the destination yourself. We will not sell you the illusion that we look after the data on a server you administer. If you want backups managed by us, the shared hosting plans include daily JetBackup.
Network-level filtering, included in the price, with no separate mitigation fee. We do not publish a threshold in Gbps because we do not have a publicly measured figure we can stand behind, and a number invented here is exactly the kind of thing you discover is false on your worst day.
Yes. The practical difference: on shared hosting we manage the server and you work in cPanel; on a VPS you manage everything, with root. If you have never administered a Linux server before, tell us what you run and we will tell you directly whether the jump makes sense — sometimes the right answer is the next hosting plan up, not a VPS.
Other services
We would rather sell you what actually fits. If something else here suits you better, tell us and we will confirm.
Sometimes the right answer is the next hosting plan up, not a VPS. We will tell you that even if it means a smaller order.
