In short

How much does a .ro domain cost and whose name is it registered in?

A .ro domain costs €11.99 per year at LowPings and is registered in your name, not ours: you are the registrant in the ROTLD registry and can transfer it at any time, to any other provider. You check availability right on this page. We also register .com, .eu, .net, .org, .shop and other international extensions.

How it works

What you get, beyond the name

A domain is a yearly lease on a name. What matters is who is listed as the registrant and what you can do with it.

You are the registrant

The domain is registered in your name, not ours. You can transfer it to another provider at any time, without our consent. It is worth asking this wherever you buy — the answer is not “yes” everywhere.

The price is the whole price

The figure next to the extension is the price per year, not a first-year offer followed by an increase. No separate activation fee and no costs that appear in the cart.

Connects to hosting in a few clicks

If you also take hosting with us, the domain is connected from the same panel. If not, we give you the nameservers and you point it wherever you want.

The check does not lie to you

When we do not get an authoritative answer from the registry, we say “probably available”, not “available”. Confirmation comes at checkout, not after you have paid.

Frequently asked questions

What people ask before buying a domain

If your question is not answered here, message us on WhatsApp — we reply the same day.

Is the domain registered in my name or yours?

In yours. You are the registrant recorded at the registry, not us. That means you can transfer it to another provider at any time, without depending on our consent. It is a question worth asking any provider, because the answer is not “yes” everywhere.

How long until it is active?

International domains — .com, .net, .org, .eu — go live within minutes of payment confirmation. For .ro, propagation through the ROTLD registry usually takes up to 24 hours. Until then the domain is yours, it just does not resolve everywhere in the world yet.

Is the price shown per year or per month?

Per year. All domain prices on this page are annual, unlike the hosting plans, where the figure is monthly. We keep them separate precisely so they do not get mixed up.

What does “probably available” mean in the check?

It means we did not get an authoritative answer from the registry and used a DNS lookup as an approximation: if the domain resolves to no nameservers, it is very likely free. Very likely is not the same as certain — a domain can be registered without being configured. The final confirmation comes when you place the order. We prefer that wording to an “available” you would discover to be false at checkout.

Can I transfer a domain I already have with another provider?

Yes. You need the authorisation code from your current provider (called AuthInfo or EPP) and the domain must not be locked against transfer. A transfer usually adds another year to the existing validity period, so you do not lose the time you have already paid for.

Do I get a free .ro domain with hosting?

Yes, depending on the period paid upfront: annual billing on the Standard plan, 6 months on Advanced and 3 months on Professional. It is still registered in your name.

What happens when it expires?

We notify you before expiry at the email address on your client account. If you do not renew, the domain enters the grace period defined by the registry, after which it becomes available to anyone. You can renew at any time from the client area.

Can you hide my details in whois?

For .ro domains, the details of private individuals are already protected by ROTLD under the GDPR. For international extensions, whois protection varies from registry to registry — message us on WhatsApp with the extension you are interested in and we will tell you exactly what is possible.

You have the name. Need somewhere for it to live?

With annual billing on the Standard plan, the .ro domain is included in the hosting price. A year of hosting with the domain included costs less than the domain on its own.
