Hosting for Magento

Magento needs resources.
We tell you honestly how much you need.

Magento is the heaviest eCommerce platform among those we host. This page also says when a shared hosting plan is NOT the right fit — because it is better to find out now than after you have moved the store. From €6.99 per month.

In short

Can Magento run on shared hosting?

Yes, for small stores. The entry plan offers 25 GB NVMe SSD, 10 GHz CPU, 5 GB memory and 50 concurrent processes at €6.99 per month, which is enough for a limited catalogue. Magento is the heaviest eCommerce platform: with a large catalogue or steady traffic, the honest answer is a VPS.

Magento, in practice

What to know before choosing a plan for Magento

We do not sell optimisations we do not perform. We write what is true about the resources and what they mean for your application.

When shared hosting is NOT the right fit

Magento uses considerably more than WordPress or PrestaShop, especially during reindexing and cache generation. If you have more than a few thousand products, several stores in the same installation, or run Magento 2 with Elasticsearch, the shared plans will not be enough. We tell you that here, not after you have paid.

When it works on a shared plan

A small Magento store with a limited catalogue, moderate traffic and well-configured caching can run on Magento 1: 25 GB, 10 GHz CPU, 5 GB memory and 50 concurrent processes. Magento 2 doubles the processes to 100, Magento 3 goes up to 100 GB and 18 GHz. These are starter and mid-range configurations, not ones for a fast-growing store.

The honest alternative: a VPS

For most serious Magento installations, a KVM VPS is the right choice: guaranteed resources, root access, control over PHP versions, Elasticsearch and Redis. It starts at €4.99 per month — below the price of the first shared Magento plan — with resources that are yours alone.

What we do before you order

Tell us how many products you have, which Magento version you run and how much traffic you get. We tell you which configuration you need, even if the answer is a cheaper plan than you expected — or a specialised provider, if your requirements go beyond what we can support properly.

Frequently asked questions

What people ask about Magento hosting

If your question is not answered here, message us on WhatsApp — we reply the same day.

Does Magento run on shared hosting?

For a small store with a limited catalogue and caching configured, Magento 1 can be enough: 10 GHz CPU, 5 GB memory, 50 concurrent processes. Magento 2 and Magento 3 go up to 100 processes and up to 18 GHz. For anything beyond that — a few thousand products, several stores in the same installation, Elasticsearch — the honest answer is no, and we recommend a VPS.

Why recommend a VPS instead of selling me the more expensive plan?

Because a Magento store that suffocates on a shared plan becomes an unhappy customer and one more migration two months later. The VPS Start costs €4.99 per month, less than the first Magento plan, and gives you guaranteed resources and root access. We would rather sell you what works.

Will you migrate my Magento store?

Yes. Magento migration is done through support, on request: you open a ticket after ordering and we agree the migration window together, because reindexing and regenerating the cache after the copy take longer than on other platforms. The old store stays online throughout.

Do you support Elasticsearch and Redis?

On the shared hosting plans, no — they are services that need resources and configuration at server level. On a VPS you install them yourself, with root access, in exactly the version your Magento installation requires.

Which PHP versions do you have?

Several, selectable from cPanel per domain. Check what your Magento version requires — the requirements differ significantly between Magento 2.4.x and older versions.

How much storage do I need?

It depends on the catalogue and the images. A store with a few hundred products and optimised images sits comfortably within the 50 GB on Magento 2, and Magento 3 goes up to 100 GB. If you have thousands of products with large galleries, work out the storage beforehand — and at that point the conversation is about a VPS anyway, not shared plans.

Tell us what you run and we will tell you which plan you need

Even if the answer is a cheaper plan than you expected, or a VPS instead of shared hosting. We would rather sell you what works.
